"All children are born artists. The problem is to remain an artist when we grow up."
I have spent the past 15 years honing my technique in modern, contemporary, ballet, and jazz. My love of all things dance has led me to explore other aspects such as dance history, improvisation, choreography, and dance education. It is through my exploration of dance education that I have found a passion for teaching and guiding young artists to be the best they can be. I like to combine strong technique with exploration and improvisation in my classes in order for the students to explore the concepts on their own terms. I strongly believe that the best way to learn is to discover it for yourself, so my classes are designed to facilitate self discovery. The classes are technically challenging and I am constantly holding my students accountable to move to the best of their ability. I have experience teaching technique to all ages, as well as creative dance in K12 educational settings. It is important for me to continue my own growth as a dancer and explore new techniques and movement styles that I can bring back to share with my students. We are never done learning, and I hope to inspire that attitude in the next generation of dancers, artists, thinkers, and movers of all kinds.
